Californians and even people from overseas look forward to Downtown Alameda’s Spring Festival with anticipation and excitement.


The next spring festival will be held on 7th and 8th May, 2016. This is a family event largely. Help yourself to some fast facts about the festival.


Like every year, Downtown Alameda’s Spring Festival is backed by Downtown Alameda Business Association. Established in 1981, this organisation acts as a support network for the 450+ businesses situated in the Historic Park Street Business District of Alameda. Since decades, the company’s goal has been to develop an economically prosperous business district through the united effort of its members.

Downtown Alameda’s Spring Festival – At First Glance

The admission to Downtown Alameda’s Spring Festival is totally free of cost! Mostly meant for families, the festival features 150+ vendors and 50+ shops. There are several platforms for art, crafts, food, beers, wines, mimosas, live music and entertainment. This place has something for people of all ages.

The Festival Details

The free street fair offers fun for all! Visitors can check out as many as 150 art and crafts booths, enjoy performances by talented musicians, and treat their taste-buds to fabulous cuisines. Alameda Avenue has a special area for kids and families too. Bounce houses, slot cars and walls developed for climbing are located here. Craft beers, regional wines and bubbly mimosas are served at independent booths.

On 7th May, music buffs may watch performances by prominent bands such as Savannah Blu, Joyride, The Newtones, Motel Drive and Zebop! Next day, music bands such as The Pine Needles, Fu Man Chu, Tia Carroll and Long Train Running will work their magic.

Secure bike parking will be available on the Park Street.

Spring Festival Specials

Interestingly, many businesses will provide weekend specials during the Spring Festival. Here are some of them.

i)    Bead Inspirations: Ample unique, ready-to-wear jewellery, with earrings starting at just $5 can be purchased by the visitors.

iii)    Ozone: Shoppers can get 25% off on all clothing and 10% off on all customised complete skateboards.

iv)    Yoga Alameda: All mothers can participate in the free classes on Mother’s Day.
