Playa Maroma

Located 55 km from the Cancun-Chetumal Highway in the Riviera Maya, Playa Delfines is one of the most popular beaches of the island. Due to its size and incredible blue waters, many consider the beach to be one of the best beaches in the world. The beach’s southernmost point, Punta Maroma is a great place to indulge in adventure sports such as water skiing and snorkelling.

X’cacel Beach

Located 40 minutes south of Playa del Carmen, X’cacel is a popular virginal beach in Cancun. Boasting a sea turtle sanctuary and a beautiful cenote just a few steps away; this beach is truly magnificent. While kids can enjoy the sights of turtle nesting and hatching, adults can try out different adventure sports and recreational activities.

Akumal Beach

Located 60 miles to the south, Akumal is a small beachfront town in Cancun. The little island town is classified as one of the area’s best attractions, largely due to excellent conditions for snorkelling and also because it is home to numerous endangered turtles. During the nesting season, turtles lay eggs on the shore and during the hatching season baby turtles can be seen making their way back to the sea.

Tulum Beach

A lazy bohemian beach town, Tulum is located 80 miles south of Cancun. Unlike other popular beaches in the city, Tulum boasts a rich historical past and is therefore the only beach to have an ancient archaeological site in the city. Numerous clubs and resorts on the beach make it a perfect holiday destination right next to the ocean. This popular white sandy beach is quite wide and is dotted with swaying palms and other trees.

Playacar Beach

Affectionately referred to as ‘Playa’ by the locals, this funky cosmopolitan beach is located about an hour south of Cancun. This popular beach is lined with numerous boutique hotels and beach clubs for visitors to enjoy every bit of their holiday. When the sea is calm, it’s a good place for adventure sports and other activities such as snorkelling and swimming.
